DB connection failed for IBM DB2

Hi,

We are facing DB connection Failure while performing Database deployment.
We are using IBM DB2 as a target Database.

Seems fairly obvious? Double-check your config and make sure all your connection parameters (esp. the password) are correct and using the correct attribute names. This could also be caused by an outdated JDBC driver.

There is no issue with config file as the same config file i had copied to our legacy TS 6.7.2 and it was working fine and able to connect database.

Regarding drivers : I used those drivers with SQLWorkbench in my local system and tried to connect the same database and was working fine.

I am not to able to find the solution for that. any help would be appreciable.

Note that from OD 6.2 to OD 7.x, there was a change in how to specify the type of DB2 driver to use. It sounds to me like you've got a conflict there. Since you haven't specified it explicitly, the default value of the "use-db2-driver-type" attribute is "net" (Type 3) whereas your error message (specifically, the Java package) implies that your driver is of Type 4 (universal). Your JDBC URL could be of either type, since you haven't shown the syntax you're using, but somewhere along the lines I'm suspecting that's where the problem is -- the two types use a different connection mechanism and that could very well be why DB2 thinks you're not providing a password (DD might be specifying it the wrong way).

/bit of a guess though, I'll admit.

Hi rpoulin,

We got the solution for this, we specified the entry in database.xml and reading it from that xml found that it is fetching password properly. but not sure why it was not working by directly reading from config file.

Anyways thanks for your help.
