Index manager hangs

boggle

Hi everyone,

Environment: TS6.7.2SP2Patch1a, Windows 2003, Search 3.1.1sp1, Event Subsystem Oracle 9i (ESSD).

Here is the scenario. I've had our production Teamsite hooked into the production ESSD and then up to an R&D Search server for some time. The R&D box happily indexed both bulk and incrementally (it never really finished before the index expiry time was reached as it was woefully underpowered but it chugged along). We finally were given the production set-up. A VM not the server I'd requested but at least it is not a slice of the Teamsite server. Search was installed and search.properties and branches.cfg updated accordingly. Teamsite's cssdk.cfg was updated to respond to the new Search server. Everything comes up and stays up but it won't bulk index it hangs with

Index Server-Autonomy Edition is ready

(it did connect to the event subsystem but to focus in on this problem I disabled incremental updates in search.properties).
Anyone have any ideas what is wrong?

Thank You

Here is the whole iw.tsindex.log

The problem was corporate idiocy.

We are not given access to even view production servers now and must rely on server support to install to and make changes to our Search server. So when I asked server support to overwrite the default branches.cfg with provided file he did not. So in actuality everything was working perfectly but with "defaults" index manager had nothing to index so was "happily waiting".

Argh!

I'll get the last laugh though because without any way to run the command line tools provided by Autonomy to manage Search and a very active migration of new sites into Teamsite underway they are going to be bombarded by tickets/e-mails.
