get value of node specifying attribute.

I was not sure where to post this , but I figured it is more xslt oriented so I posted it here.

All I am trying to do is to get value of all nodes whose attribute is some value. here is my xmls and xslt. I am getting all the value here.


XML file:

Jack
Harry
Rebecca
Mr. Bean


Jack1
Harry1
Rebecca1
Mr. Bean1


Jack2
Harry2
Rebecca2
Mr. Bean2

XSLT file:
[html]





[/html]


I want all node values where class name is "bbb" and id value is 2, how can do that? any pointers?

Simple XPath query. Depends on how you want to use it, but if you were just printing it to the screen in <p> tags, you would do something like this:

If you only want students, replace the * with "student". The "./text()" is superfluous, put here for legibility, but you can just as well use only a single dot.

You can do the same with a template structure (as you were trying) but that seems awfully convoluted unless you'll be expanding on it a lot. If you do want to go that route, you just have to introduce some <xsl:if> statements to only go down the branches you want.
