Upgrade TinyMCE to latest version in TS 6.7.2 SP2?

is this possible? i have a request to use the latest tinyMCE (3.3.6) in our templates (like wordpress has) but the version in 6.7.2 sp2 is old and missing a lot of functionality (i.e. cropper). is it possible to download the latest version from TinyMCE site and overlay/upgrade the version in TS? i did a little digging in the forums and it appears its not possible?

It might be possible - but my guess is that it would be completely unsupported and thus not worth it as such.
You might be able to do this in a [semi-]supported manner by using a callout to launch a new window that utilizes a distinct version of tinymce - and figure out how to submit the results back to the DCT form from when the callout was launched.
