I looked up in the manual to use iwpt_compiloe.ipl

Its given as "iwpt_compile.ipl -pt -iw_pt moo.tpl -iw_pt-dcr moo.dcr cow.dcr"

This command is in iw-home/bin dir. so I can go to this dir on cmd line and run this command, but how do I provide path of TPL to be executed. In this sample code, whats the location of moo.tpl ? If its not provided, how will it be executed ?

I executed as follows
"C:\Interwoven\TeamSite\bin>iwpt_compile.ipl -pt -iw_pt event2.tpl"

and I got following error message

Could not open presentation template: -iw_pt

Somewhere, somehow, you're missing some of the "directives" within that Usage statement.

It should be:

iwpt_compile.ipl -pt filename [-ofile filename] [-ocode filename] [-oenc encoding] [-smartwrite] [-manifest filename] [-umask mask] [-oprefix ofile_basename_prefix] [-osenc encoding] [tag-specific flags]

My confusion is, if I just put a TPL name in "iwpt_compile.ipl -pt filename" as I have put in my earlier post, how will it find path to that TPL ? Do I not need to provide path to TPL ?

Please provide me with a sample, in which a TPL is located in "Y:/default/main/WORKAREA/magazine/templatedata/category1/event/presentation/event.tpl".

Are you serious?
Do you actually mean that you do not know how to read and interpret a CLT's usage syntax?
Although you should be able to find this for yourself - I'll give you one pointer for you to try to educate yourself (which clearly you don't seem to have bothered to do before posting)

How would you expect it to find the path to filename?

I'll be willing to admit that the usage message could be a tad more clear here - but basically as far as the CLT is concerned all three of the following constitute valid values for "filename":

the "tag-specific" arguments you should probably be using and what arguments they take.Hopefully you can manage to read that by yourself.
