How to generate element attribute in single quotes using iw_value ?

I have a requirement in which I am required to generate output as
<event id='18'>

Value of id is to be captured from id field in DCT.

When I use <event id="{iw_value name='dcr.firsr.id' /}" > , I am getting output as follows

<event id="18">

event ID value is coming up in double quotes. If I try as
<event id='{iw_value name='dcr.firsr.id' /}' > , I am getting error message that TPL can not be parsed. SO how can I get id quoted in single quotes instead of double quotes in output ?

try to use -

or you can use CDATA tag for the same....CDATA is the best way of writing the PT.

You cannot use single quote within another single quote. Please compare the code you have pasted and the one which Vaibhav has posted.

Use like this-

If you still getting error, then attach your TPL file to the post.

In your earlier post, you have mentioned that you used [php]....I even tried as
' >.
But that did not work either...[/php]This is not supported. Hope it makes it clear what you wanted.

I understood that single quote within single quote is not supported (It was an error on my part in posting. Actually I used singlequote within double quote or vice versa).

When I am using double quote within single quote OR single quote within double quote, I am getting same result in output ie ID value is in double quotes only.

After that, I used CDATA also, but I am getting an error as shown in my last post. Why am I getting such a behavior ? Why is CDATA not working ?

Please attach your tpl file with the CDATA code in it which you have used.

If your intent is to generate XML output - what do you care if the attribute values are surrounded with single-quotes or double-quotes - as long as the value within the quotes does not contain the same character (which, if it does, should probably have been turned into an entity)?

CDATA is the best way of writing the PT

I believe that is a rather misguided statement to make.

Note - I have not tested any of these.

This is just simply bad code:[php]<event id=''> [/php]Made worse-so by the fact that you are using an XML-strict PT.
It does absolutely nothing with regard to the requirement you've indicated. and is likely causing the error message you are seeing.

This code:[php]
[/php] would appear to be the location where you want to insert CDATA tags in the output (which I still don't understand since your example doesn't seem to indicate such a need) I believe you would be best served by using an iw_perl block - something like (un-tested):[php]<br>my $event_date = iwpt_dcr_value('dcr.first.evenDate');<br>my $start_date = iwpt_dcr_value('dcr.first.startDate');<br>my $OCD = "<![" .
