Calling serverside script in a .page

Hello every one,

I have a requirement to pop-up an "save as dialog" when user clicks on a link to download an image. So when i tried java script it is only supporting IE . but i want to support Firefox too. To do that it seems like i have to call a a server side script like Perl/CGI , ASP or JSP .. that sets the header content type.

All our components are java dynamic components....

Questions:

How do i achieve this ?

can i call a server-side script in a .page file ?

Or there any alternative ways or best ways to achieve this?
