onSave function not working on Finish Button

Hi,

We are using TS 7.2 and as a part of the DCR development we need to validate few fields on the click of the Save/ Finish button.
Below is a DCT structure

Category

Category Name
Tire Problem Category

When user adds a new replicant in "ProblemCategory" and without giving any value clicks on the "Finish" button , the next screen appears. It didn't call the onSave function on the Finish Button.
Whereas on click of the "Save" button it calls the Save Function and validate the fields.

Kindly suggest.

Do you have any custom script executing when the user clicks on Save/Finish button?
When you say next screen, what do you mean?
Please post your datacapture.cfg and associated custom script if there are any.

The onSave handler (you should declare the handler within the custom_init() function) is passed a parameter which you are not declaring and thus ignoring. The parameter is most often referred to as "button" which contains one of the following values:

If you specify the parameter and then conditionalize the code based on one (or more) of the above values, you should be able to do what you are trying to achieve.Look in the FormAPI manual (e.g.: page 32 of the 7.1 version) for more information.
