Setting the value of a radio button in the existing record

Hi All

I am working on Teamsite 6.7.1
We have a template in which we have used one OR container with one of the option as dropdown which is also a container.
Now to modification in this template we need to add one radio button
Selection with option "yes" or "no" bydefault we have mentioned in the datatcapture.cfg the value as no.
It works fine for new form entry.When i do the same for existing records,it doesnot set the default so we have done modification in the js

It works fine for existing dropdown that was prsent in the dcr recors.But when i add one more replicant drop down in the same dcr it gives me error at the line(where i am setting the value setValue())....

Have worked on similar lines before and it has worked for me....is this a limitaion to a OR container.?

I'm not sure I'm completely following you here, but if the dropdown container is not, itself, a replicant (only one of N-possible choices in the surrounding OR replicant) then you would probably have to get a handle on the parent [OR container] replicant and then iterate through all of its children, for each iteration you would have to verify what type of child it is, and if it's the "dropdown" type then, and only then, look to reset the radio-button.

Note - this is questionable design - the 'default' only works for new instances of the element because it's generally a bad idea to reset values within the DCR simply by virtue of having opened it for editing.

We have done the same.
Before setting the value,we are checking if the replicant is a dropdown.

For the existing record in the drop down container,the value is getting set properly,but for the same record when we add a replicant,value is not getting set.
If we save the record and open the record again,it is picking up the default value from the datacapture.cfg and works perfectly.

Please suggest what changes needs to be done.

To handle on replicant handle error, you can run your code for that perticular instance only. suppose if if you click on first replicant and adding second replicant, then target your code on only second container instace. which will newly added. OnreplicantAdd you can checked that
which replicant number is going to be add.
