TeamSite Admin Console versus OpenDeploy Admin Console

Hi,

Not sure if this should go in the OpenDeploy or TeamSite forum.

Env:
TeamSite 7.2.1
OpenDeploy 7.2.1
Windows Server 2008

I had the OpenDeploy Admin working and I was able to login and everything. After I install Foundation Libraries and ApplicationContainer, I was still able to log into the OpenDeploy Admin.

Then I install Common Services and Common Services Client.
Still Able to log into OpenDeploy Admin.

So I went ahead and install TeamSite and CSSDK Soap Services.
Still Able to log into OpenDeploy Admin.

Then installed TeamSite Admin.

Now when I try to log into OpenDeploy Admin, it gives me a Request Denied message.

So this brings up the question:
Is the TeamSite Admin incompatible with the OpenDeploy Admin?

The OD Admin interface is now, I believe, part of the TS Admin UI - rather than being a separate piece.

They're not mutually exclusive, and as far as I know, there's no reason why your install of the TS Admin would have killed the OD Admin. (The deployment piece of the TS admin is a uber simplified version of the OD admin -- you can check logs and fire off deployments, but that's about it. For the more advanced stuff, including the management of OD role assignments, you have to use the OD admin). I've had the two working simultaneously before (7.2.1).

Since you were checking your OD admin at all steps of the install process, can we assume that the problem is reproducible? Is your user still in the proper roles when checked using iwodauthorize.bat? Any useful error messaging in the OD Admin / CSF logs?

It is a passphrase issue. Copy the passphrase from OD to all locations including teamsite.

Would be nice, but the TS Admin "Deployments" tab contains only a very tiny subset of what is in the OD Admin standalone app. You get deployment logs for the base, and you can kick off deployments from the base. You get none of the good stuff, like managing your remote OD Receivers. You still need the standalone OD Admin to do much of anything useful.

One thing they actually did improve is the ****-awful log viewer. It actually shows the log in a post 19th Century pop-up window that you can resize and scroll without entering how many lines you want to see. Bravo Interwoven! :rolleyes:

update to my last post. You would want to take the passphrase in CSF since it is the OD admin authenticator.

Copy : CSF/AccessService/etc/passphrase TO:
teamsite/private/etc/passphrase
AND:
opendeployetc/passphrase

then restart teamsite, OD base, and access service.

Let us know if this resolves it.

I copied the passphrase from CSF to TeamSite and OpenDeploy, and restarted all the services. Now I am able to log into TeamSite Admin and OpenDeploy Admin. Now why one one admin breaks the other admin is another story... Same company, different engineering groups writing code without checking with the other group.

Well, copying the passphrase from Teamsite to CSF works just as well to resolve the issue. In my case, OD and TS both had the same passphrase, so I just copied that to CSF and restarted the Access services and OD Admin server. That fixed it!
