encoding issue

Hi,

Upon generation, we are saving the data to MSSQL 2005.
But we have a string like: “What is a healthy diet?”. Now when saved to the database the '“' and '”' quataions are corrupted somehow to The text “What is a healthy diet?â€�

We are using DBI to perform DB calls.
Now in the tpl we assign the value to a variable:
$sTeaching = iwpt_dcr_value("dcr.main.cActivity.taActivityTeaching");
and then in the update statement we have $sSql .= "TeachingTheActivity='$sTeaching', "; (there are more columns thats why the ",").

Does anyone have any experience with this?

You are not the first to get burned by Microsoft Office "dumb quotes".
