Web Daemon was unable to contact the Interwoven Proxy

youssaifu

Hi there,

I am struggling in previewing the DCR. I am using TS 6.7.2 on windows server 2008. When I click on Preview I get this message:
The Interwoven Web Daemon was unable to contact the Interwoven Proxy Server. The Interwoven Proxy Server may be down, or running on an unexpected host or port.
Please contact your system administrator.

The ..user_preview.html file is created under Workarea and no error mentioned in log files.

my iw.cfg file:
[iwwebd]
default_protocol=http
http_port=80
https_port=443
host=localhost.net

[iwproxy]
iwproxy_host=localhost
customer_webserver_host=localhost.net
iwproxy_port=1080
customer_webserver_port=81

and the IIS 7 Default web Site binding port is: 81, I am using ISAPI Filters : iwproxy_isapi.dll
Thanks in advance

Is iwproxy running? on port 1080 (as indicated in the config file)?
Is there a customer web server running on port 81?

Thanks Ghoti for your reply.
yes the iwproxy is running. When I run iwproxy -d the output is:
[iwproxy] using iwproxy_host from iw.cfg: localhost
[iwproxy] listening at http://localhost:1080
[iwproxy] using customer web server at http://localhost.net:81

[iwproxy] using servlet engine at http://localhost:8080/iw-cc
[iwproxy] using iwwebd at http://localhost.net:80

A better test if iwproxy is running would be:

C:\> net start | find "Proxy"

If it comes back with:

   Interwoven Proxy

then its running, if you just get a prompt back without the above, it means it isn't running.

net start | find "Proxy"
Interwoven IWProxy Watcher
Interwoven Proxy

Now I get this error in error.log file

Perhaps you should open a case with Support...
I don't have any ideas about this - and it doesn't look like too many other folks do either (though they may respond now)

I'd also suggest contacting support, because the above just shouldn't happen.. ever. This implies that the iw-cc servlet's command descriptors mechanism isn't working properly, since it's instead treating it as a folder. If you or someone made UITK customizations that could have broken this, you should uninstall them (comment out the line in toolkits.xml and then run "install_webapps.ipl -i -f content_center") and see if that helps your case.

The problem was fixed. We have reinstalled Teamsite and now preview works fine.
Thanks.
