Job variable passing between external tasks

Hi ,
I have a following situation where i need to pass a variable from an external task(which invoke an ipl) to an external task which is an email task.I need to fetch the variable value from ipl(1st external task) and pass it into email template body(email tpl invoked from 2nd external task). I tried setting the variable as job variable and getting the variable into email template but no value is getting fetched through setvariable/getvariable method.I checked the value of job id in ipl (which is setting the variable) and email tpl (which is getting the variable),the hash values got in both caes are different.The code which is used is mentioned below:
for setting the variable in ipl.
use Teamsite::WFworkflow;
my($jobid,$taskid)=(@ARGV[0..1]);
my $thisjob= new TeamSite::WFworkflow($jobid);
thisjob->SetVariable("filelist","filelistvalue");

For getting the variable value in email tpl which is invoked as external task(email task)
use Teamsite::WFworkflow;
my($jobid,$taskid)=(@ARGV[0..1])
my $thisjob= new TeamSite::WFworkflow($jobid);
my $value=thisjob->GetVariable("filelist");

I also tried to get the value of variable in wft but no value of variable is coming there .Kindly suggest where i need to correct in my approach and suggest any alternative way to pass the variable value from one external task to another.It will be highly appreciated.

That looks like it should have worked. Either add some logging so you can see what values $jobid and $taskid have (and add some error handling to make sure the $job object is instantiating correctly) or run your tasks from the command line through the perl debugger to see what's going on.

Actually, I just noticed something. In this line:
[PHP]thisjob->SetVariable("filelist","filelistvalue");[/PHP]

is the $ on your thisjob scalar really missing, or was that a cut-and-paste-o. Do you have the use warnings; pragma in your external task? If so, is it complaining about an unidentified bareword?

The Perl script is invoked as an externaltask and as such is passed certain parameters by the workflow engine, including the jobid and taskid.

The PT (email tpl) is not passed any parameters unless you, yourself, provide such information (which is not shown in any of your postings thus far) - so I don't see how your PT is going to get the proper jobid from which to create the TeamSite::WFworkflow object, from which to retrieve the "filelist" job variable value.

Usually, the PT is processing a job XML dump - so using an XML accessor (like

my $jobid = iwpt_dcr_value('dcr.workflow@jobid');

or something approximating that, would be the way that you would retrieve the jobid within the email PT -- though frankly, since you'd have the job data already there (in XML format) you could retrieve the job variable value directly from the XML data rather than creating a TeamSite::WFworkflow object to access it.
