OD start problem

vijaykumarsharma

I am not able to start OD, following is the output of stop, start and status commands:

/iwhome/iw-home/opendeploy/OpenDeployNG/etc/init.d/iwod60 stop
ERROR: /etc/defaultiwod60\home not found.
ERROR: OpenDeploy home directory cannot be located.
ERROR: Can not start OpenDeploy server.

/iwhome/iw-home/opendeploy/OpenDeployNG/etc/init.d/iwod60 start
ERROR: /etc/defaultiwod60\home not found.
ERROR: OpenDeploy home directory cannot be located.
ERROR: Can not start OpenDeploy server.

./iwodserverstatus
cat: cannot open /etc/defaultiwod60home
*** ERROR: Failed to get path to OpenDeploy home directory from /etc/defaultiwod60home.

There is no /etc/defaultiwod60home and etc/defaultiwod60 path at the server and I can't create it because it will require root access. Has anyone else faced this issue or can help me with some idea?

Would appreciate any help.

It sounds like either someone did not do the initial installation as root - or someone with root access removed the file in question after the installation.

I suggest you talk to someone there who has root access - if the software is installed [properly] - they should be able to create the file in question (the contents of which is the path to ODHOME - like "/opt/OpenDeployNG") - and that might "fix" the problem -- otherwise you need to get someone to [re-]install OD properly.
