Opening a CGI script to check code

I am trying to open a CGI script to read the code. When I open it with notepad or any other editor, the text within file comes up all garbled.

WHy is that ? Should not the code appear in readable way ? How can I open this CGI to see whats there in the code ?

The file you are opening has been compiled and is a binary file. You won't be able to see it in a text editor.

Where can I find source file ? Is there a way to figure out source file from this code ?

Seriously? You do realize you have not provided the name of the file or it's location so we have know idea if it's out of the box from Interwoven, something that was created by a contractor or in-house, or if it was found on the web. It's like asking us "I have some cake, I would like to know how to make this cake", and then not telling us if it's chocolate, devils food, or carrot.

More than likely you won't find the source code unless you poke around at the company your are working at (or for). Please provide more info if you would like us to help you.

The short answer is that unless you've got the source code (which I'm guessing you don't), you can't modify this file. The long answer is that, if by some divine intervention you can match the assembly and infrastructure that the CGI was compiled on, you have a small chance of being able to decompile it... good luck with that.

Now stop trying to figure out how the iw_cgi_wrapper.cgi works (like I'm sure we all have) and post the details of the actual problem you're trying to solve.
