PT Compile help

I need some help with a dcr that is failing when I try to generate a new page.

Its the PT Compile error.

In the past Ive been told to run iwpt_compile against the TPL file. People basically posted a link to the help file. Well Ive looked at it and I cant make much sense of it.

The error in iwutild_cmdout.log is:
Useless use of int in void context at

\iw-home\iw-perl\vendor\lib/Rochester/Rochester.pm line 316.

Could not output file: Y:/default/main/Internet/rochestermn.gov/WORKAREA/Police/departments/police/animalshelter/availableanimals.asp

I need help with this. The kind of help where I check the log and report back send you screenshots and you say ok try this. I hope someone can help. I put in a support case on it days ago but no response.

That kind of help will be tough.

This is your clue:

Could not output file: Y:/default/main/Internet/rochestermn.gov/WORKAREA/Police/departments/police/animalshelter/availableanimals.asp

Why can't that be created/written to?

FYI, I always run iwpt_compile from the command line. It provides better diagnostics.

One more debugging tip. If you put print statements in the TPL Perl code, they will show up when you run iwpt_compile and also go in the utilcmd_out log.

I don't think so support will help you anything on this, cuz its purely development. Some one here would help if you can provide snippets of what you were trying to execute and how did you run your commands. So I would suggest post your entire command as how you are executing iwpt_compile?

I solved this by deleting paragraphs until it compiled.

The user put in an integer value larger than a field would allow or a text character in an int field.
