URL Task is stuck in active state

Hi,

In my workflow model after a submit task, a URL task is supposed to execute. When I look in the workflow tab, that task is stuck in active state. Theres absolutely nothing about that task in the logs. It never finishes or executes. I have added a lot of System.out.println statements. I am at a loss. Any help is appreciated.

Don't you see anything in servletd logs? Ideally any error like Null Pointers get logged there.

No absolutely nothing in servletd log. Thats whats surprising. Don't see entries in any log files.

Try using actual logging statements, instead of trying to guess where your STDOUT gets recorded (varies by app container and therefore TS version).

If the task is not executing at all, then TS didn't find the class.
If the task is executing but remaining active, then your code didn't call task.chooseTransition().

You should see something in this log if your URLExternalTask fails:

iw-home/local/log/iwui/content_center.log

Your task is getting executed but it dies/doesn't transition to next task because your code isn't doing what you expect it to do. you should be able to find your debugging statements in servletd_out.log or content_center.log if you have them placed correctly.

Run iwgetwfobj taskid (taskid of the URLTask) - or - iwgetwfobj -r jobid (jobid of the current job).

In the latter case - find the URL Task that you're interested in.

In both cases - look at all the details listed in the element - see if there's something there like "waiting to lock".

If you can't see it - put the contents of the output into a file and attach the file to a response-post.
