Can't launch application to edit non-templated files through Citrix
tienle66
I have several users who's having trouble editing files that are non-templated.
They using Citrix to access Teamsite remotely.

Teamsite 6.7.2 SP2 on Solaris 10
Browser: IE 7

Error Message:
Couldn't launch the application to edit 'C:\IWTemp\Temp\teamsite\cached\default\blah\blah.html'
java.io.IOException - CreateProcess: C:\IWTemp\Temp\teamsite\appletlauncher.exe C:\IWTemp\Temp\teamsite\cached\default\blah\blah.html \q\/:\\APPS\MicrosoftsOffice\\Office12\\WINWORDEXE\q\s\q%1\q error=5

We tried to change to notepade / HTMLKit but have no luck.
We tried to uninstall/re-install Java JRE 1.5 with no luck. We also tried 1.6.
I also checked to see if there was a extra iwperl.exe but there wasn't any...
/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl -> perl
We're able to edit files fine on campus/office but users who edit files remotely are having this issue.
Any citrix users or support out there can help us?
Thanks.

Sounds like a permission issue. Are they logging into the system using any VPN? It looks like they might not have the permission to write to C:\IWTemp. Check and make sure they can write to that directory.

I believe the issues have to do with the permissions on the C:\ drive of the CITRIX server (this is off the top-of-my-head, I could be mis-remembering some older posts about these kind of issues). TeamSite is trying to store the files within C:\IWTemp and it is probable that the users logging in through Citrix do not have the rights to create directories within there and/or to overwrite files that may already exist within there.
See if you can open up the access rights on C:\IWTemp (and all files and sub-directories therein) - i.e.: "Everyone FULL" - and see if that fixes the problem.

..or have the user change the properties of the File Manager to store the files to some other directory where they do have access.
