When TeamSite is installed, what are the tables or objects created in it by default ? This I was asked in an interview. I have no idea, what it meant. So I am putting it here.

I don't think this is documented anywhere in the published docs. The tables created depend on what version of TeamSite you are installing and if you are talking about DB for TS events and or sitepublisher/livesite. you can find out by examining the database schema using a DB client, or by looking at the sql scripts under iwinstall directory. An enhancement related to this in 7.2.x where they got rid of external database for ActiveMQ and is using an internal DB to store ts events.

Agreed. That's an unfair interview question because 1) it varies, 2) it's undocumented and 3) it's not even intended to be modified by customers, so why would you care what's in there?

It's not completely unfair - nor is it completely undocumented (at least depending on the version you're talking about) - but there is some validity to the question about why they would care about what's in there - I think it's more important to understand what tables / schemas are created, and what they're actually used for (which is not well covered in the documentation)

iwstore is a filesystem not a database.
The Event Subsystem database is a database not a file system - though much of the information can be extracted from the iwevents.log which is a file (not a file system nor a database)

The Event Subsystem database is used to trigger other product pieces - e.g.:

I don't know much about ActiveMQ but it looks like its a messaging system of sorts and not a database so I think its completely distinct from the rest of your questions.

I agree as well. I've been working with TeamSite at our company since 2002 and I never have to look at the TeamSite database (only during installations or upgrades, and even then I don't look at the names or table structures). Shouldn't have to.

If you don't have a copy of the PDF and you're working in a capacity that would be significantly enhanced if you did - perhaps you should see about going through the proper channels to get a copy of the PDFs (e.g.: Talk to someone in your organization who has them, or has a Support login, or talk to someone about getting a Support login so that you can get them yourself).

The manuals are all copyrighted and thus it is technically illegal for anyone here to post the manuals for you. Small excerpts are done on occasion but that's usually for a small focused issue not a general and/or broad concept question.

What database is internal DB ?

From the TS 6.7 forward, default Events System DB is Apache Derby. Upon install you can set your own DB instead.

Not sure... Don't they still have create_derby.sql under eventsubsystem/conf/ddl collection?
Or perhaps that's just leftovers and only create_oracle, create_sqlserver and whatnot SQLs should be used.
