here is the case scenario that i have : The path i have in my workarea looks like this:

docroot/dir1/dir2/webpage.html

i dont want docroot dir to be copied there i want the directories under docroot only to be copied there.

docroot/dir1/dir2/webpage.html => dir1/dir2/webpage.html

is there any way to do that.?

Set the source area to include ".../docroot"
Make sure the files in the filelist (I presume this is a filelist deployment) are specified relative to .../docroot - i.e.:[indent]dir1/dir2/webpage.html[/indent]Then you will get exactly the results you want.

Alternatively, as Nipper suggested - you can leave the source area attribute value pointing at your workarea / staging / edition root directory and set the path element's attribute to one of:

docroot.
