delete record by using datadeploy

I have a situation where I don't want to delete the dcr but do need to delete related dcr record on db by using data deploy. Any thoughts?

you can make a new workarea (with nothing in it) and run datadeploy with that DCR only, since the DCR is not there, it should remove the record form teh DB

No It wont remove until the DCR deployment(insert) happened from the same workarea.

Delete functionality will work using iwdeltracker table with values like area and path then key value pair.
Using different workarea you can not delete the record ex A.dcr

My suggestion here, go by some custom approaches to delete, like DBI modules or Java DB connection.

Or some kind of approach to foolish the deployment
1. Before DD execution submit the DCR to Staging then delete it from WA
2. Run the DD
3. Overwrite the DCR from Staging to WA

When running the deployment the DCR not present in WA, once execution completes bring back DCR from staging to WA

Or else use the temp workarea for deployment(insert,update or delete)

Thanks for all the great ideas. I think custom approaches are my best bet.
