Hi,

Datadeployment failure due to Microsoft special chars

We are storing the DCR content to the DB. Due to special char in the TEXT filed, we are unable to deploy the content to the Database.
Identified the issue is with character ’ i.e Microsoft quote in Summary DCT field. I replaced that character with normal quote ' , then able to deploy to DB.

Getting following error message in the DD log file

Summary Field value: This procedure outlines the Proactive Short Sale Team’s role.

Is there any way to fix this issue?

Any ideas would be helpful.

The first suggestion is simple - disable "smart quotes" in Word so that when you copy/paste text from Word into a DCT you don't get these kinds of problems.

The second suggestion is create a tuple preprocessor that looks for (and fixes) such characters so that they fit within the character set / character width of the receiving database / database field.
