rename option in web desk

It looks like Web Desk out of the box does not allow users (authors) to rename files (i.e. File > Rename). Is there a way to enable this functionality in Web Desk?

Are you sure you want to do that? What if the file is already in STAGING - if you rename and submit (without submitting the deletion of the old file name), a copy of the file with the old name will still be around.

Move, rename and delete (especially directories) are generally pretty complicated to support in TeamSite - especially when DCRs and templated output files are in the picture. The default operations almost never work the way you might hope.
