Basing Field on Both Taxonomy & Native Metadata

We have MetaTagger 4.1.3 integrated with TeamSite 7.1. We use TagUI to tag SitePublisher pages. One of the fields set up for suggestions from MetaTagger is Keywords.

We have a requirement to suggest keywords based on a taxonomy, as well as allowing the user to manually add keywords (by specifying them in within the SitePublisher page)

I have written a custom transconverter which saves the keywords added to the page, as native metadata.

Is it possible to combine the keywords from the native metadata, with those suggested from the taxonomy, into a single field?

I don't think so. The controlled vocabulary field can only contain values from the vocab.
