Hi guys, I am very very new to teamsite. I've been given the task at work to sort through edit and delete hundreds of outdated files from a very large corporate website and I'm struggling to do so. I know this is a simple task. I'm not new to building or editing a website but I am really having a hard time finding any basic support for this. (Other than this forum is there a good basic help resource for TeamSite online?)Basically I need help learning how to edit existing .html files. When I open an existing html file it seems to include the complete header and footer code as well as the content. It seems like this would conflict with them template when I upload the file again? Also I'm having the opposite problem when creating an html file. No header or footer tags are included in the generated file and I don't have any options to include them when I upload. If anyone has the time to go through this with me (Desktop sharing or not) I would greatly appreciate it. This has been my headache for too long, it would be great to get it solved. If more information is required from me please ask!I'm sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place. I can't seem to find a more appropriate place to post this help request. Thanks muchly, Kim
Hi,What I can understand from your post is that you are into editorial and you want to restructure/modify the contents. When you say edit and delete pages then it becomes bit complex to understand your job.I hope you are using teamsite and if so then you must be having training docs as well as Interwoven Consultants to help you.Thanks.
I have almost no training documents and no Interwoven consultants to help. I have the "TeamSite ContentCenter Professional User's Guide Release 6.7.0" manual but honestly it doesn't really help. It seems to jump from topic to topic with no real logical order and does not clearly define terms unique to TeamSite.
I have to modify many .html files. When I click edit the entire file opens into Notepad. Header, Footer and Content. From what I know about websites I feel like the complete Header and Footer should not show here. Instead should it not just be an include tag calling both? Also when I am uploading a new .html file I don't see any options to include the header, footer in the document. Do I have to add the include myself?Hope that helps, Im not really sure how else to describe the problem.
Yeah I kind of thought that would be the solution. Thanks for your help.
