Internal server error

Thanks for all your responses.

We have migrated from TS 6.7.1 to TS 7.2.1. We noticed that the Custom menu links and workflows are showing up Internal Server Error 500 when they are initiated.

Reg. the custom menu links - The custom links shows up fine. But if we click on any link that would consume the parameters from the TS screen, we get the Internal Server error. We even pointed a custom link to show_env.ipl and got the same error.

Reg. the workflows - We get the screen to choose the Workflows (using radio buttons) when we click on the 'Submit' button. Once we choose a workflow and hit the 'Next' button, the Internal server error shows up. Note that we are triggering the default/default_submit.wft workflow which is OOB from Autonomy.

Not much of any useful information from the logs.

Any pointers?

The Internal Server Error 500 only signifies that the web server encountered something unexpected and is unable to fulfill your request.
There might be something in logs which you might be missing.
Some of the pointers will be to see:
1.All the logs including the installation logs.
2. See the Web Server logs(Ex. Apache logs if you have Apache as web server).
3.Is everything(DCTs, Components, pages, etc) working fine other than what you reported?

Sounds like the iwwebd is having trouble rendering Perl script for whatever reason. You should have some kind of error message in iw-home/local/logs/iwui/error.log. Given that you're having issues with the OOTB scripts, I'm thinking it's probably something wrong in the config of the iwwebd (iw-home/iw-webd/httpd.conf, if memory serves). Have you modified that configuration, or anything under that folder structure?

Post any messages you find in that log file, and also specify if you're on Windows or 'Nix.

1. No errors noted in the install logs other than the ones we had already taken care.

2. No errors observed on the web server.

3. Everything else appears to be working.

No changes made to iw-webd/conf/httpd.conf. We have modified the iwwedd.conf setting to

Listen 0.0.0.0:443

which would make TS UI accessible from any PCs inside the company n/w. Other files under that directory remains same as OOB.

The platform is Windows 2008 VM 64 bit.

It becomes quite difficult to get to the root without logging information.
What I would recommend is:
1. I hope you must have tried to stop/start different services and the whole system reboot too.
2.You should open a support case and also wait for some good pointers in this thread.

In the meantime if you get something then do post for everyone to comment.

I have provided the log information I have. I have already done #1 and #2.

Do anyone else have any pointers?

If I were you I would try to temporarily remove "iw_cgi_wrapper" from (one of the) problematic custom calls.

If it works after that you will know that impersonation wrapper is your problem. In this case contact support,
you may have issues with Windows 2008 "libeay32.dll" version, there may be other problems with this wrapper.

If it still does not work, the issue *probably* resides somewhere in Perl (0-length perl File in ...iw-perl/bin, etc),
wrong Perl shebang in your code, missed/incorrect CGI Headers and whatnot. In any case, you'll have one layer of
complexity less to trouble-shoot.

Thanks for the replies.

Resolved the issue by moving "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Interwoven\lib" to the front of the path variable and restarting the server.
