TeamSite preview error

Hi,

We are trying to view a html file in TeamSite, which throws an error "Service Unavailable".
Below is the environment details on which the TeamSite server is running:
OS - Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, SP1, 32-bit
TeamSite - 7.1.0

Are all services up, can you preview any other html file? Did you have your IIS set up correctly. see if you can see the same file from your IIS? Try opening an other file in a different branch?

I would start at IIS and see if it previews the file right?

Hi,
I tried the following things to check if the html file opens up properly:

1. Placed the html file under ../inetpub/wwwroot/ and I am able to open the file and see the static content in it.
2. Tried opening the file from the file system, that is, from Y: and I am able to open the html with out any error.
3. Copied the same html file to another branch and tried opening, but still the same "Service Unavailable" error.
4. The services are up and running.

Whenever I try to browse the html file from TeamSite UI or from the IIS the DefaultAppPool gets stopped automatically.

Do you see iw-mount under "DefaultAppPool and WebSite"? If it is down start it and see what happens, so the pool stopd if you browse only this file or any file for that matter?

Refresh my memory again is this a New Installation or you happened to witness this problem now?

What does your iw.cfg contain for

customer_webserver_host

(does it match the actual server's hostname, ip-address, or "localhost") and

customer_webserver_port

(does it match the port number configured in IIS)?

Please find my answers below in BOLD:

Yes. iw-mount is present under both "DefaultAppPool and WebSite".

The pool stops, when I try to browse a .html, .tpl or a image file from the TeamSite UI.

Yes. This is a new installation and came to know about this issue when we started developing the templates.

IIS port is configured for 81.

What does your iw.cfg contain for customer_webserver_host (does it match the actual server's hostname, ip-address, or "localhost") and customer_webserver_port (does it match the port number configured in IIS)?
The customer_webserver_host contains the host name of the machine on which TS is running. And customer_webserver_port matches with the port number configured for IIS. It is 81.

Your IIS settings for TeamSite might have got corrupted; Please try running the script iw-home/install/tspostreboot.ipl which reconfigures the IIS.

Hi,

Thought this might be useful for the people who will come across this kind of issue. Fix for the Service Unavailable error is mentioned below:

1. Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
2. Once the IIS window opens up, expand the node with machine name as the parent node
3. Right click on the node “Web Sites” and click on Properties
4. Click on the tab “Service”
5. Under the section “Isolation” check mark the option “Run WWW service in IIS 5.0 isolation mode”

The above mentioned steps fixed the issue for us and browsing file is working perfectly from both IIS and TeamSite UI with out any Service Unavailable error.
