How to pull static instructional text / error messages from Teamsite into J2EE App

Hi -

We are using Teamsite and Livesite for our Ecommerce static web sites very succesfully.

We are looking to extend the use of Teamsite into our separate Websphere based J2EE applications by pulling instructional text, error messages etc from Teamsite. So that it can be changes on the fly without requiring Java code releases.

Looking for recommended ways to accomplish this. Is ther a tag library provided which we can include and use to pull content in the form of XML or an API through which we can fire query and get the right content back to be embedded into JSP of a separate J2EE application?

No, but that would be a bad idea anyway. Your front-end application is typically allowed less downtime than a backend system like TeamSite, so you're introducing a dependency that could have negative effects on your front-end.

Instead, think about ways to capture the information in TeamSite and then deploy it to your applications. There's many ways of doing this, but the gist of it is that you could capture error messages and whatnot in a DCR, and then use a presentation template to convert that to a .properties or XML file and deploy it, or populate your app's database via DataDeploy.
