In the approval step of my workflow I get an error
"Task 0 is not a valid task".
and the workflow doesn't complete.

Have any of you faced this error?

Is this Workflow WFT or WFM? From your design what kind of Task is this, did you try debugging the workflow manually? We need some more information as what succeeded so far in your workflow and what task is giving you this error?

"Task 0 is not a valid task".

This looks like somewhere you managed to reference a task named "0" - presumably through a successorset / transition - when no such named task exists within the job spec.

Where is the error occurring?
During instantiation?
From an external task?
From a CGI task?

Based on your initial description - it sounds like you made it past instantiation - which would seem to indicate that the source of the error is probably not in the actual workflow itself (though still possible).

It sounds more like an incorrect callback being performed from an external or CGI task - (like using TeamSite::CGI_lite's iwcallback with '0' as the first argument instead of the description associated with the successor).

The error is occuring when the users tries to approve a group task. We have realized that the email link should take you to the group task page instead of the approval page.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

In my mind, "when users approve a group task" could mean a number of things. It might help if you describe that part of your workflow process. To Adam's point, it's most likely that this is caused in a custom screen. Does your group task transition to an immediate CGI task? Does the error manifest itself in the TeamSite group task window itself, or after a popup has (attempted) to initialize? Or provide a screenshot of the error message on top of the window that caused it.

Thanks for all the responses.

In my workflow I redirected the workflow to the group task take screen using the following URL.

http://usfliwd0/iw-cc/command/iw.ccpro.task_details?taskid=

The original error was due to the taskid not getting populated correctly in the XSL.
