Can we have a retry button to retry external tasks that carry deployment

Can we have a button for retrying the external tasks which are failed and the callback has returned as 1. Due to this what happens is my task still remains at the failed job.

Good practice for the external Task is to have at least three successors, Failure, Success and Timeout.

It is your (WF Developer) responsibility to configure WF with such successors and to code an external
Task to correctly call back Failure or Success. If your code has to die - it has to die gracefully,
transitioning to failure. Whatever problem you missed, did not catch, etc - timeout should take care
of that so that your Job is not left hanging.

What you do on failure and timeout is up to you. For example, on failure you can notify Administrators
to look into your Deployment issue and after that transition to "Retry / Terminate" Admin-owned User Task.
Upon clicking "Retry" loop back to problematic external task.

CGI Task will never start automatically after external Task

No need for a CGI Task - can be a simple usertask with 2 buttons (Retry/End Job). Retry transitions to the deployment task.
