Putting stuff in HEAD

On occasion our content managers want to add meta tags in the head section. For example noindex,nofollow to prevent pages from being indexed by search.

I have not found a way that on a page-by-page basis the content manager (author) can insert anything in the head section.

Any ideas? And yes, I've looked in the "documentation".

Since that reference doesn't talk about authors modifying what's injected into the header, your options are:
* Use a component that prints out nothing in the appearance XSL, but calls out a Java class that adds to the PAGESCOPE_HEAD; or
* Tag content with EAs, deploy to LSCS, use PageController to query LSCS and append to PAGESCOPE_HEAD.

Easiest way for authors would be to create a custom data type to contain this data, then pull it out of LSCS and inject, or attach as metadata and do the same.

Agree with rpoulin.
You can put nofollow noindex:
context.getPageScopeData().put(RuntimePage.PAGESCOPE_HEAD_INJECTION,
string);

where string is nothing but nofollow noindex.

After rendering page source should like :

<html>
<head>
<title>...</title>
<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW">
</head>
</quote>
