Hi,

My formAPI is not working in firefox 3.x.
It is working fine in IE7, IE8, Firefox 4.x, Firefox 5.0

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Define "not working" and what you're trying to do. Post the JavaScript error message, if any, along with the relevant code.

Auli2

Even a single alert message is not coming and there is no message in the Error console.
Though it was working sometime back for Firefox 3.x also.

Is there a reason that you need to support FireFox 3.x? Can't your user(s) upgrade?

Auli2

In the release notes for 7.2, firefox 3.x is mentioned so users have chosen for the same version Smiley Sad

Anyone else also facing this issue?

Thanks,

did you try clearing browser cache/temp files?

Auli2

I used Ctrl+Shift+Del and removed evrything.
I am not sure whteher it clears temp files or not.

Tried this also but to no avail -
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

Even if it's just an alert that alert might not get fired because you have an earlier mistake in your script.

We really aren't going to get anywhere until you give us some code. Get it down to the simplest, post it, and we can take it and test it for you or find the errors.

Its fine that you are trying to clear the cache but have you tried this on some other system having firefox 3.x.
Try to find out is it cache or something else in your code which is creating the problem.
Also You mentioned that it was working fine so what are the changes you made, do you have any editions or anything by which you can revert and check.

HTH.

I wouldn't trust the error console. It misses errors that happens with the different frames of FormsPub. Install Firebug instead, if you can, and check if that picks up anything.

Got the cause for the error.
Changing the following line of code from
var reg = /^[\s\S]{0,100000}$/;
to
var reg = /^[\s\S]$/;
make it work on FF3.x also.

For FF 3.x, there is some limit to the no of characters that can be specified (which is not there in FF4.x or later).
