7.2.1 Blue Screen when previewing files larger than 255kb

Hi All,

Fresh 7.2.1 install of TS and OD
Windows 2008 Server R2 Enterprise w/ IIS7

Tried this with a virutal image of win2k8R2 on a PC laptop (with VMware Server), Mac Laptop (with VM Fusion), and ESX host (VM vSphere). OS was installed separately in each instance, fresh from windows server ISO.

I've been using TeamSite under this setup for more than a month now, but haven't been working with images or other potentially large file types until now. I've had a few issues here and there (as my recent posts would suggest) but haven't hit any REAL showstoppers... until now

Symptom:
- When previewing an image with a file size > 255 kb the server will blue screen.
- This happens conistently, and every time I try to look at an image of this size.
- If I try to preview an image smaller than 255kb there are no issues (I've tried with an image that is 254kb, no problems)
- I'm trying to get a screenshot of the Blue Screen message, but rest assured it's not very informative
- I've tried accessing the same image directly through IIS (ie. not going through the /iw-cc/preview or /no-injection, etc.) and I have no issues, so it seems to be caused by something TS is doing when serving an image as a preview
- I just tried uploading a large css file (900kb) and it crashed the server when clicking on "Download abc.css" after visual preview couldn't display it natively
- Uploaded a 3mb PDF file, clicked on it, was given the link to download by visual preview, clicked download, blue screened the server

Has anyone encountered and/or heard of this?

Have you tried this on Windows 2003 Server? I know that Windows 2008 have some of the most strict security policy that might be preventing you from downloading large files. I am not sure if the strict policy is not laying nice with TeamSite.

Known issue with Win2008. Contact support. They will provide a new virtual file system driver that will fix your blue screen problem.

I have opened a case with support, do you (or does anyone else) have any further details on the known issue? Can a solution be found on the support site while we wait to hear back from support? Is there a case number, FAQ, solution that I can look for in the meantime?

Is this a 7.2.1 problem or does it date back to older versions?

This problem is keeping us from performing some very time sensitive work, so we're trying to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Not that I know of, Jason. However, they will probably be very quick on this P1 issue... I would be surprised if you don't have a fix by end-of-day.

It may extend to other versions, I am not sure.

Support came back, and was able to provide me with three driver files for the 64-bit version of windows. I stopped TeamSite replaced these files, rebooted the server and I'm back in >255kb action!
