sequence number

Hi all,
When a dcr ( product) is created then itwill be deployed onto database( with datadeploy); product ID will be generated automatically with Oracle sequence numbers stuff.
I need to get back the sequence number created and i can achieve it with a sql statement ( so again a conexion to db) .I duno think it's the most apropriate solution any other idea ..?
