not able to get value from properties file in layout xsl

Hi All

I want to read value from properties file kept at some location like common/properties.

and based on the key i want to print its value in xsl (used in layout).

I have tried something like this

select="unparsed-text('iwmnt\....\common\properties\test.properties', 'iso-8859-1')"/>

but getting the error
"Could not find function: unparsed-text"

Any help on this will be highly appreciated.

It looks like this function is part of xslt2. While teamsite is using xslt1.

Yeah, if it's a must-have, you could create a Java external to read the properties file and output the key-value pairs as XML elements.
