Calling WFT from WFM !!

I am trying to call a WFT from a CGI Task (Servlet) of workflow developed using Modeler. I am able instantiate WFT by generating JOB Specification file from the Servlet.

But, the WFT has CGI task as START task.

Issue which I am facing is, when the WFT gets instantiates, START CGI is not coming up automatically, instead I have to go to workflow TAB and have to start first CGI task manually.

Is there any way, where-in my CGI comes up automatically on completion of Modeler CGI Task?

Any pointers?

What version of TeamSite (including service pack and patch info)? - 7.1.0.0.1. I don't have service pack details, as the box is supported by third party.
What is the server platform (Windows, Solaris, Linux)? - Windows
- If Windows - do the users have logon-locally privileges? - No
- If Unix, are the users OS or Non-OS?
How is the servlet instantiating the WFT?

Does the same user who owns the servlet-CGITask own the WFT-CGItask? - Yes

Workflow will instantiate and will be there under WORKFLOW tab. But our requirement is bring up CGI automatically. I have a workaround, by having another Servlet/JSP and providing link to new waiting Job within workflow tab. But I am looking to start CGI with above code directly, by bringing up mentioned CGI.

If you're on Windows and the users do not have logon-locally privileges, it is possible that the servlet process is owned by something like SYSTEM rather than the actual user - and thus the instantiated workflow may not believe that the user who started the job is the same as the user who owns the CGITask / start-task - in which case - it will not bring it up immediately regardless of what you try.

To test this (so that it can either be followed-up or discarded) - get one TS user account with logon locally privileges on the TS server - and use that account to own the wrapping CGI (servlet) task to instantiate the workflow for which they should also be the owner of the inner CGITask (which does have

immediate="t"

set - right?). If it works - then it is the privileges which are the stopping block. If it still doesn't work, then it's probably something else and you may have to see if someone else (perhaps even Support) can assist you in diagnosis / debugging.

Open a new window from your WFM CGI Servlet using javascript... on a button click or whatever. The new window content should be a form that submits itself on body load. The WFT wf will instantiate and the first CGI task will appear in the new window.

This one instantiates a WFM but you can find a wft version by viewing source of a wf instantiation page in ContentCenter and searching for a form called 'instantiateform'. Copy it to you new window and fill it in with your wf details.
