favicon is not coming

Hi All,

We have teamsite installed, previously it was showing favicon (see attachment). now it is not showing it, any idea? did I overwrite any config file?

IE is not very consistent in showing the favicon.

Did you ever try with a browser (e.g. firefox)?

Thanks Ronald for your reply, actualy this is not issue with browser because for our dev enviorment favicon is coming properly.both TeamSite are having same versions of TeamSite and we are testing favicon in same browser for both the dev and prod servers.

This is browser issue or somebody removed logo.

Remove url from bookmark, check in all browser, specially in firefox it will display.

Did yuo try to access the favicon directly with a url like:

http://my-teamsite-server/iw/some-path/favicon.ico?

That MUST show it.

I am not sure what version of teamsite you are on, but for 7.2 and above it shows autonomy symbol/favicon. What is difference between your DeV and prod? Just for giggles did you try rebooting the machine and even after that did you see it missing?

Yes it is TS 6.7.2. Yes I tried REbooting machine.

View source on the page and look for the <link rel="icon">. In 7.2.1, the href should be /iw-cc/base/images/logo16x16.png. Verify that this path is accessible by hitting it directly in your browser. If it's there, then your browser's just being stupid. As previously mentioned in this thread, IE doesn't consistently load it. Sometimes, if IE can't get the icon fast enough and decides it's not there (or if it has cached the idea that it's not there), it'll look for /favicon.ico (at the root), which isn't there. If you're on older versions of IE, a silly fix might be to convert the logo.png to favicon.ico and drop it in the IIS web root.

also check view source sometimes path is not accessible due to permission issue. In this case 404 error will return..
