Nothing systemic in 7.X that causes a general failure.

when we installed TeamSite 7.0 the iw-home path becomes
/opt/iw-home/TeamSite.

Did you encounter that same thing?

OK, this is not an upgrade, but a new install.

Yes the default is to install it in TeamSite under the folder you request, eg: /opt/Interwoven/TeamSite

So that will certainly break your external tasks

When I did an install on new hardware, I had to install 6.7.2 in /opt/iw-home and then upgraded to 7.2.1

For the external task.
We did changed the path with default for some reason it does not execute command. We dig further.

I would strongly consider redoing the install. Often you have /opt/iw-home all over the place (esp with poorly written perl). You could be debugging this for a very long time.

Even with a fresh install of TeamSite 7.2.1, running OOTB external task (external_task_test.wft), with sample_external_task.ipl, the external task still fails. Just curious if External Task in WFT are still compatible in TS 7.x series.

Yea they have been broken for a while. External tasks work. I rewrote the task but it works.

Just used my own deploy task rather than the IWOV supplied one.

You should be able to get the external task going, try logging, make certain that the it is being started.

Are you using non-OS users by chance ? Is this Unix or DOS ?

Are you using WFM or WFT? I don't recall WFT having deploy task, but WFM have their own Deploy Task. Also, using OS User with master rule on Unix (Sparc Solaris 10) system. The ipl file does not even kick off, so no log is seen.
