Issue with creating custom pagetype

Hi,

We are facing an issue with creation of custom pagetype. To give you the background, post-installation of TS7.2.1, we made the necessary changes in pagetype-config.xml (as attached) located under:

< iw-home >\local\config\lib\content_center\livesite_customer_src\etc\conf\livesite_customer

While moving forward in order to make the custom XSL (my-layout.page.xsl as attached) file that should be placed under:

< iw-home >\local\config\lib\content_center\livesite_customer_src\web\WEB-INF\classes

But "WEB-INF\classes" folder was not available on post-installation of new TeamSite 7.2.1. So discussing the same with Autonomy consultant, it was said that we can create the folders by ourselves and that shall work. As we had already created the necessary folder, and on running the "build.bat" from "< /iw-home >\local\config\lib\content_center\livesite_customer_src" we are unable to view the custom page name in drop down list.

Also referring to "Advanced Configurations and Custom Types" on page 263 of "TeamSite SitePublisher Developer Guide" we followed the same process but we still are not able to view the custom page.

It would be great if you may kindly update us on the issue on urgent basis.

To update further we are working on TeamSite 7.2.1 with LiveSite 7.2.1 witn .net framework on Windows 2008 R2.

We put ours in /iwmnt/default/main/BRANCH/WORKAREA/Content/iw/config/fixed-layout

my-generic-content-layout.xml

TS 7.2.1 on RHEL

Now it is not an XSL but an XML defining the fields & did not need to change pagetype-config.xml

Thanks for the inputs but here I am talking about custom page type and not the fixed area layouts. My problem is to have "My Custom Layout" heading appearing in the drop down list of the Page Type (that appears while creating a new page). It would be great if you may kindly show an example to what you are emphasizing on.

I probably may raise a case with Autonomy TeamSite for further investigation and update you accordingly.

With 7.2 and beyond, IW-HOME/httpd/webapps/content_center/WEB-INF (and the whole webapp) is moved to use jboss under typically /Interwoven/ApplicationContainer/server/default/deploy/iw-cc.war.

To get something from the livesite_customer_src build into the iw-cc.war/WEB-INF folder, you would put it into livesite_customer_src/etc (or etc/conf/...) and run "build install".

Solution you provided is incorrect, with "build install" command entire TeamSite Server is going to go down with nothing in hands.

I have a raised a case with Autonomy for the same and will keep you posted with correct steps so that no one else should get suffered with your solution.

Hi Acezone,

We are also using Custom page-type and layouts and it is working fine.
The only difference I can in your implementaion with ours is we have placed custom layout xsl files under \local\config\lib\content_center\livesite_customer_src\etc\classes\com\interwoven\xsl\runtime\my-layout.page.xsl and working smoothly.

Please try to put your xsl file under the above mentioned path and then run build.bat and have a look.
Please let me know if it works.

Please check the logging when you run build.bat file, it will show all the xsl files which are getting included while you build toolkit.
Post that reset the IW server it would pick the layouts freshly created.

I am clear with the thought you mentioned, but the problem out here is that when the build is executed, it is a partial success that means only few location files get updated but not all. So the question is how to fix the issue to make the build fully successful.

Series of steps you need to do

4)After successful build you can go and test this by creating a page and you can see your custom page-type

I got it resolved after consulting with Autonomy, as per them if the build is partial success, then in that case we actually have to get in to TeamSite FileSystem and update the necessary files in 4 different locations. After running the build.bat, I am able to view the list of custom layouts I created.
