Is there a way to stop SP inserting these unique ID and attaching "iw_component" css classes into the pages & generated HTML's.


Whenever a component is inserted SP inserts

as well as on the template level, creates "element1", "element2" ID and creates associated CSS classes.

Is there a way to stop as working around web-agency HTML is so difficult and SP is messing up the styles.

Any ideas?

We asked the same thing and was lead down the path of creating our own page types which involved XML, XSL, and a bunch of Java code. We eventually ended up figuring out what was causing the issues and corrected those instead.

The instructions are more than can be posted here in the forums but there may be KB articles about creating a new page type. (I think that's what it was called.)
