Page Generation Error

Hi Folks,

Environment: TeamSite 7.3.1, Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise.

I have an issue with page generation from DCR.

Whenever we preview/generate a page for first time it throws an error attached the screenshot. Page gets generated and displays fine whenever we regenerate the same page. This is weird behavior of TeamSite.

Observations were only three log files get updated during this action which are access.log, content_center.log and iwutild_cmdout.log but no specific information about the error.

I have tried generating the page from the command line using iwpt_compile.ipl, iwgen, iwregen, in all the cases page is getting generated fine with no issues.

Anyhow I have opened an case with HP Support but till then any pointers will be helpful.

I don't know about anyone else, but the quality of that image is such that it's rather difficult (if not impossible) to read. Perhaps you could copy/paste the contents of that error as text into the forum...

Parser Error Message: Unexpected end of file looking for </Partner:IMPanel> tag

Is there something unclear in Parser's error message? It *seems* that <Partner:IMPanel> Tag is not closed.
Have you checked this "test12052.aspx"? Is it well-formed?

Yes I have checked that, it is well formed in fact page gets generate fine when i regenerate the same page from same DCR. It throws error only when we generate/preview the page for first time.

It's hard to suggest something non-trivial with the limited information you provided.

If I were you, I would reproduce the issue and start investigation from the temporary
"zz_*" Preview module up. Perhaps you have some "Preview/Generate" forking in your FormAPI
or templates or may be you use some calls/processes that require Target File presence or it
may indeed be TS 7.3 issue, who knows...

Let me explain this way.

When page is generated from command line using iwgen/iwpt_compile.ipl, there is no error. However when a new page is generated from the UI, page generation doesn't finish.
Resulting in the error you see as the end tag is not generated.

Please understand that without code we have no way of knowing what you do and how you do it.
You are explaining the same thing third time in a row. Thus, an amount of additional information
that you've provided in subsequent posts is exactly 0. So, if I were you, here is what I would
do/explain:

- Did this generation ever work correctly in the "first time preview" Mode? (May be previous PT
version or previous TS Version, etc...) If it did, what changed? If it's code, roll it back and
see if that helps.

- I assume that you do not have this problem for generations of other (all?) Types, otherwise you
would probably have mentioned that. So, wipe out your PT temporarily. Start adding little fragments
to it, testing after each incremental step. Sooner or later you'll get your culprit. If nothing
else, it'll give you better idea of what's going on and allow to make more pointed request to support
and forum.

No! TPL is not modified recently. This weird behavior encounter in TeamSite 7.3.1 version. The same TPL was working fine in our previous TeamSite 6.7.2 version.

We have recently upgraded TeamSite from 6.7.2 to 7.3.1.

The issue is not specific to this template, same issue occurs for some more templates. And for some templates page gets generated/previewed successfully.

Yes, sometimes page gets created successfully in first attempt also. But most of the times it fails to generate/preview.Probability of issue is 8 hits out of 10.

Pages were generated/previewed successfully in our previous version with the same templates.

If you need, I can attach one of the TPLs,DCTs and ASPXs files over here.

Wiping out TPL temporarily and testing it by adding code snippets is good idea but it was working fine in previous version of TeamSite

It worked in TS 6.7 and it does not always work in TS 7.3, it is that simple. So, it seems that code itself is not the problem.

Your issue is probably caused by some unforeseen interaction between your code and new Environment. It can be
some sort of racing or concurrent access to certain resources or locking of them or some 32/64 Conflict - anything.
You can either wait for support to start solving your problems for you or you can try to trouble-shoot yourself.
