TeamSite Search Re-Index Defaults

Trying to get a grasp on what the default settings are for TeamSite Search for the 7.21 environment.

We have Incremental updates set to false and event base updates set to false as well. I am trying to understand when the software re-indexes the content? (daily, hourly?) and how we can control that.

iw.index.wamodifications.enable=false

I believe that if you disable the events-based indexing options (either because you don't have the event subsystem running or you just decided to do so) that it is up to you to force re-indexing, and I believe you can do that by just stopping and restarting the index service (though you should verify that)
