As I've been developing templates, I've found that I've been reusing large amounts of code over and over again across multiple branches. Is it practical to extract all of the repetitive TPL code (mixture of Interwoven tags, PERL, and HTML) into common modules that I can use iw_include to reference.

Also, do I have to expliticly pass all of the values that I need to pass, or is there a way to define values (especially those that I set in PERL) to be global?

Any best practices out there? Or is this something that I shouldn't try?
