Manual RSS viewer component

Hi,

I am new to Livesite. I was trying to analyze the working of 'Manual RSS viewer component' under installed components. I am getting the a java.lang.nullpointer exception when I try to preview this component.

Can you please let me know why this is happening. I have not edited anything in the original sample code.

Is this on the component guide or one of you own pages?

I am referring to the component in the path given below:

/iwadmin/main/livesite/component/WORKAREA/Installed Components/Interwoven/Social Computing

The page in which this component is used is:
default/main/component-guide/WORKAREA/shared/sites/Component Guide/Social Computing

Unfortunately, unlike most of the component guide, it appears that page does not come pre-configured. On my server I see that page does not contain the component. Most of them work OOTB, but that one does not for me either.

There are two sections in the SP developers manual about the RSS viewer, have you gone through those ?

what livesite version is that?? I have 7.3.2 and I can render the page with couple of articles and images. see the attachment.

The page includes the component.
When I try to preview the component I get the following error:

java.lang.NullPointerException

Where can I check the logs for this? Can you please let me know.

Do a view source and see if there is a complete java dump. There may be better information available
