Disable Component from showing up in .page file
Prabhudh
Hi,
Is there any configuration available to disable the component from showing up in the "Add Component" section in .page file?
The only option that we know is to delete the component and submit to staging but the requirement is to retain code base and disable the component from showing up to the user. Just exploring if there is any chick option similar to "templating.cfg" file used for DCT framework

No, there isn't. Delete is the only option that I know of, though I've always wondered what would happen if you set the permissions such that e.g. only masters could read the file and nobody else. Still, you should just be able to delete the component and rely on your external source control system to retain a copy for archival purposes... because you ARE using source control, right?

Yea we need a chick option.......
I tend to make a DO NOT USE folder and drop stuff in there. It won't stop people from using it (though you may be able to mess with permissions like Rick said), though it will stop accidental usage.
