Email is not working using iwsend_mail.ipl from command line.

When I am trying to run the iwsend_mail.ipl from command line it is not working.

[root@BVASNDD03 bin]# /opt/Autonomy/TeamSite/iw-perl/bin/iwperl /opt/Autonomy/TeamSite/bin/iwsend_mail.ipl -t 'gopi.barala@intervalintl.com' -f root@bvasndd03.ii-corpnet.com -m 'This Space Available for Advertising' -s 'Sample Subject Line'
iwconfig: variable not found var: debug_output section: iwsend_mail
Task 0 does not exist.
ERROR:00920: Object being looked up was not found

Please can anyone help me what may be the issue.

That script expects to be run from a WF. So it is kicked off like /opt/Autonomy/TeamSite/iw-perl/bin/iwperl 12345 12346 /default/main/some/branch/WORKAREA/Content /opt/Autonomy/TeamSite/bin/iwsend_mail.ipl -t 'gopi.barala@intervalintl.com' -f root@bvasndd03.ii-corpnet.com -m 'This Space Available for Advertising' -s 'Sample Subject Line'

Where 12345 and 12346 are valid a job ID and a task ID and the path is the correct vpath for that job

@nipper has the right information - but he botched the modification to the command line - it should be:

/opt/Autonomy/TeamSite/bin/iwsend_mail.ipl 12345 12346 -t 'gopi.barala@intervalintl.com' -f root@bvasndd03.ii-corpnet.com -m 'This Space Available for Advertising' -s 'Sample Subject Line'

If you want to precede the entire thing with /opt/Autonomy/TeamSite/iw-perl/bin/iwperl, you can - but you shouldn't need to - as the script should be executable and reference the correct perl engine in the #! line.

Can i run from command line giving vaild job id and task id , areapath to check the emails are working or not.

Actually we are using iwsend_servlet_mail.ipl program in the external task to send emails but when I am using it the workflow is hanging we are not sure what may be the issue.

We installed new TS version 7.4.1 on linux and moved iwstore to new version from TS 6.7.2 solaris box. we moved existing workflow and tested without email task to check the deployment is working or not. Everything is working file except the email task is not working. we are stuck at this moment.

This is the command we are using in wft:-

Please can you let me know what may be the issue and how to debug!!!

Find the jobid (we'll call it "xxxxx")

Find the taskid associated with the email task (we'll call it "yyyyy")

From the command line run:

/opt/Autonomy/TeamSite/local/config/wft/wfb/iwsend_servlet_mail.ipl xxxxx yyyyy Epiphany_Offers_CP_EditForm dchristi

If you don't get any help from that, try running it in perl debug mode like:

/opt/Autonomy/TeamSite/iw-perl/bin/iwperl -d

/opt/Autonomy/TeamSite/local/config/wft/wfb/iwsend_servlet_mail.ipl xxxxx yyyyy Epiphany_Offers_CP_EditForm dchristi

If you don't get any help from that -or before doing that- look at the actual code in the script and see if there's anything that allows you to turn on debugging - especially SMTP debugging (you may have to look at the perldoc's for whatever mail module is being used to determine how to do that). My guess is that it's one of:

your mailserver / maildomain information isn't correctly set in /etc/iw.cfg, or
a recipient address is not being correctly determined (either not set in the tsusers.xml or in some email_map.cfg somewhere), or
your mail server is not accepting requests from your TeamSite server (work with your mail server admins)
a recipient address is being evaluated into an external address (e.g.: gmail.com) and your mail server won't allow you to send it there because it thinks you're trying to use it as a routing system (either change the address to an internal one or work with your mail server admins to allow exceptions to their rules so that you can send to [certain] external domains
