Teamsite 741 installation not supported on solaris 10 zones?

Hi All,

I am trying to install TS741 on a solaris 10 zone machine.

when i try to click Teamsite 7.4.1.0.0 (install) option, it greyed out and says unavailable for selection because its not compatiable with host operating system.

any idea what could be the issue?

here is host information:

bash-3.2# uname -a
SunOS hostname 5.10 Generic_147440-01 sun4v sparc SUNW,T5140

and IWOV installers which i downloaded to install

Have you read the release notes and installation manuals?

I'm pretty sure that TeamSite has never been able to be installed in a solaris 10 "zone" - only LDOM

TS supports only global zone on solaris. mine was local so installation failed.

I'd move to Linux ,as this will allow you to virtualise it (much like zones are).

Linux can be installed on VMware for instance.

Next to being a less costly solution then LDOM, it'll provide you more flexibility AND speed.

Teamsite seems to like the x86 platform a lot more then the sparc platform.
