Recomemded MS office for TeamSite 6.5

Hi Team,

We are able to upload Microsoft Office 2010 (.docx & .xlsx) documents into Teamsite version 6.5, but when we click on these documents in the VisualPreview its giving a HTTP 404 error "The Page cannot be found". I did try to add the new formats in the MIME.type, but didn't seem to work.

Is the MS Office 2010 document compitable by the TeamSite version 6.5?

Please let me know your inputs on this.

Where did you configure those mime types, and are you sure you had the correct mappings?

We have configured "web.xml" file present in the server path ~\iw-home\AdminServer\servletd\conf and ~\iw-home\servletd\conf has been configured as below for the MS office:

        <mime-type>application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.presentationml.presentation</mime-type>
    </mime-mapping>

        <extension>docx</extension>
        <mime-type>application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document</mime-type>
    </mime-mapping>

and

"mime.types" file present in the server path ~\iw-home\iw-webd\conf has been configured as below.

application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document       docx
application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.presentationml.presentation   pptx
application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet       xlsx
application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.template       xltx

Please let me know in case of any correction in the above configuration.

Note: Services has been restarted after making changes in the files.

Make sure to configure the "smart context editor" a.k.a. "visual toolbar" in your iw.cfg to only be injected for files ending with ".html" and/or ".htm" - a lot of times TeamSite's built-in preview functionality will attempt to inject the javascript code for this feature into any stream of content and thus break previewing of non-html code.

Try adding (updating) the above in your iw.cfg and then do an iwreset -ui (or just restart iwproxy perhaps) - then see if viewing your MS documents works correctly.

Also, you want to be configuring these MIME types on your customer web server, NOT the servletd.

I have configured the "iwproxy_smartcontextedit_allowed" section, still unable to view the MS dcoument in preview.

You need to configure this in the thing you have running on port 81, which is usually IIS or Apache WS.
