Retain the last browsed value of browse button

Hi Everyone,

 

I have a requirement to open the browse box to the last location the user browsed.

This has to be specific for every user and whenever the user logs out and log-in again, we want the last browsed location by the user to be retained and passed to the "link to file" window when clicked on browse button.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

By default, I believe that the browser will use the location of any existing selection as the starting place for new selections, but you can set a default starting location for situations where there is no existing selection.  These operate without regard to user.

 

Off the top-of-my-head I would say that what you are looking for requires that you either hack the vendor code or write your own custom browser UI that, besides doing all the browsing stuff, sets and/or retrieves values from cookies stored on the user's machine. Both require significant work and, IMO, the purely custom approach would be preferable over modifying vendor-supplied code (which you might have to de-compile depending on how it was written). With the custom approach you would have to use an explicit callout in your DCT (I'm assuming you're talking about DCTs - if not, you should have been more explicit in your original post) rather than using the 'browser' element.
