Display DCR Content in Coloum

Hi All,

We have a requirement to add a column in directory tree , which we have added but in the column we need to show a value which the user enters while saving the dcr i.e if dcr has an item name as adverticement then in the column it should show the value or string filled in the adverticment item in the dcr ...

Is that possible ? As per document it says that we cant config to show external attributes in a column . is thtat true or is there some way ?

Supposedly you can, although I've never personally tried it. As you said, it would only work on EAs though, so you need to build functionality that would write the DCR field value to an EA, and keep it up to date. Beyond that, IIRC, the UI customization guide (and/or the content_center/reference folder structure) should have the information you need to configure this. If you can't get it working, post the relevant portion of your ui_custom.xml at the point when you get stuck.

..also state your OS and platform versions.

Thanks for the reply , but external attributes was also part which i had considered but issue is that , in the pdf it says that coloums can't be configured to show external attributes ,other wise it was full filling the requirement .

As i am refering to a 7.1 custom guide , is this possible in 7.4 version . i am not so sure about the same.

We are also considering second option , which we are not sure if that is possible , when we mouse over a dcr , we are able to see the name of the that , is there any way we can change that to a value in an item , which is part of the dcr ????

Any Feed back will be good ...

That, you definitely can't do. I've also looked up the documentation and confirmed your statement -- the list of properties you can put in new columns is small, and does not include extended attributes.

If your business requires this type of listing, I think you'll have to do what the rest of us do and build a custom UI for this.
